Stop wishing and start reprogramming

24/01/2010

“In order to change you must be sick and tired of being sick and tired”

Over the years I’ve read thousands of books and attended countless seminars on subjects such as goal setting, success, achievement, happiness…you mention it, I have done it!

I learnt a lot. I mean, I memorised the stuff, but never really put it into practice.

I used to wonder why after so many hours studying, so much knowledge, I wasn’t making things happen in my life.

The truth was, I was not able to achieve anything because back then I thought I wasn’t an “achiever”. I thought certain people are the type of people who accomplish a lot in life, and that I was not that type of person.

To support that belief,  all I was really doing was daydream  now and again about certain things I thought would be nice to have in my life. But I wasn’t doing anything to get those things.

And as my dear mum says: dreaming nice things is great, but only while your asleep.

While awake, you must do more than daydream.

The thing is, deep inside, I used to think that the things I wanted were unattainable for me. That they were ok for other people to have, but that they weren’t really for me.

Part of the excuse why I didn’t take action was my childhood programming. Part of it was pure laziness. I was too comfortable for my own good.

I had learnt that your beliefs about yourself and the world determine your behaviour, and consequently the results you get in life.

But I didn’t really know what this really meant, or how it applied to me.

I didn’t even know that limiting beliefs can be shed, just like snake skin, and that you can adopt new more useful ones, that will allow you to move forward swiftly, and live the life you really want to live.

It was only when I discovered nlp and hypnosis that I learnt how you can do this really quickly.

From personal experience, and from coaching clients, I now know that in order to speed up this process, it helps that  you are really fed up. That you have  just had enough of your present situation. And that change is the only way forward for you.

You have to want something so badly, that the thought of not having it doesn’t even cross your mind.  And if it ever does, it totally and utterly repulses you to the point that you will do anything, whatever it takes, to get what you want.

Think about this for a second…

Most people who seem to naturally lead a healthy lifestyle will tell you things like: ”It’s part of who I am”, “I couldn’t live any other way”, or “There’s no way I’d ever eat that/do that”

This is because when you have made the decision that this is the type of person you really are, you get so much pleasure out of everything it involves, that the thought of not being healthy is just unfathomable.

This is the way I think now. Things that in the past used to be a chore, are now an intrinsic part of my everyday life.

I do them naturally and almost unconsciously, because I reprogrammed my mind so I could be the person I wanted to be.

Making decisions around food are not a struggle, but very quickly and easily made.

I don’t force myself to exercise. I look forward to it.

I am not a slave to the scales. And I don’t waste any time and energy feeling guilty, bad, or focusing on what I don’t like about myself, or what I don’t want.

Because that is not how a truly healthy and fit person behaves.

If you too want to make some big lasting changes, then you have to stop wishing, hoping, daydreaming you were slimmer, healthier, fitter…

You have to believe you already are those things with every single cell in your body, from the very core of your being.

Believe in your mind, and your body will follow.

It’s not about forcing yourself to believe though. It’s about reprogramming your mind so you can become the person you want to be.

Do this and you’ll be  supersonically accelerating the process of looking the way you want to look, and feeling the way you want to feel.

A Youth Injection without the needle or the poison

13/01/2010

The beauty and anti aging industries are worth  billions of euro.

Every year women and more and more men all over the world spend ludicrous amounts of money in a quest to look beautiful, sexy and young.

Fake lashes, fake hair, fair nails, fake breasts, thinified bodies, tightened and masked faces…

But does all of this really make people look more beautiful, sexier and younger?

And if so, at what cost?

It’s a known fact that many ingredients used in beauty, anti aging products, and make up are carcinogenic.

These chemicals are used by many of your favourite brands.

If you think lathering or injecting these products on your face and body is going to make you younger, think again.

If anything, they are making you age faster, and may potentially cause disease.

Add this to lack of sleep, stress, alcohol, smoking, dehydration, bad nutrition,  overeating, and a sedentary lifestyle… and you have the best aging cocktail in the world.

I am convinced that the less you mess with your body the better.

I got the best beauty tips from my gramma and my mum.

When I got married last August, a lot of my guests were trying to do the maths.

“Anna how come your mum is so young? She must’ve had you when she was very young” they said.

Many thought she was in her mid forties. She is in her mid sixties. And she looks more beautiful than ever.

I can count the amount of times she’s worn make up in her whole life with the fingers in my two hands. She’s never had a facial, a manicure, a pedicure, or any other beauty treatment.

Her beauty secret?

She washes her face every morning. She eats a mediterranean diet. She exercises every day. She relaxes with yoga. She sleeps like a log.

I do exactly the same, and a lot of people don’t believe it when they find out I am six years older than my husband.

The only products I use are completely natural and most of them I make in my own kitchen.

But what I think makes a huge difference is the weekly youth inductions I subject myself to.

I use nlp and hypnosis to induce myself into a state of deep relaxation that allows me to reprogram my mind to bring out the attributes of beauty and youthfulness.

At the end of a twenty-minute session, I wake up refreshed and invigorated. It usually feels like the best nap you’ve ever had.

I have done inductions like this with clients, and they tell me that afterwards, they look in the mirror and they can see and feel the difference straight away.

Remember when you were a child, and you were fresh, dynamic, full of energy, flexible, strong, fast, powerful, playful, bold, exuded positive energy and a boundless imagination…?

Youth and beauty are about so much more than what people can see on the surface. It’s about what people can feel from you.

You can be beautiful and young again, quickly, and with no harmful side effects.

All it takes is twenty minutes and a pillow!

Lily Allen uses hypnosis to get into shape…?

12/01/2010

Rumour has it that artist Lily Allen uses hypnosis to get into shape.

There is no denying she has been sporting a smaller and more toned figure lately, and it doesn’t surprise me at all to see  it has worked wonders for her.

In fact, even thought they like to keep it hush-hush, many celebrities use hypnosis to lose weight, tone up and get healthy.

Why would these people, who already have personal trainers, nutritionists, and personal chefs, resort to hypnosis?

I’ll tell you why. It works. It works fast and extremely effectively.

But if you think you are going to be able to eat what you want,  sit on your backside, and get results, you are mistaken.

And anyone who tells you that is blatantly lying to you.

Celebs like Lily work their butts of to look the way they do.

They may have fitness trainers, but the trainers don’t workout for them.

If you want to lose weight, tone up, and get to your ideal shape, there are certain things you are going to have to start doing.

Hypnosis can help you reprogram your mind so doing what is necessary becomes natural and enjoyable.

My clients say things like, “I don’t know why but I’m  actually  really enjoying eating healthy stuff all  the time” and “I  don’t crave sweets anymore, and even if I want to eat something like chocolate, I feel repulsed by it”.

Even people who weren’t big fans of exercise before, find themselves doing it more often and more effortlessly.

Some of my clients have gone from couch potatoes to fitness fanatics in a matter of weeks!

Even I, as their coach, have been often shocked by the amazing transformations we have achieved with just a few sessions.

Now, I am not saying you too are going to, all of a sudden,  join a gym and spend endless hours pumping iron.

If you ‘ve been reading my posts, then you know it takes less time and effort than most people think.

Using hypnosis and NLP, I help people adopt more useful beliefs about health, food and exercise.

I get them to think of themselves differently, in a way that supports  their objective, and makes it easier and quicker to achieve. I also walk them through the process of a well formed health and fitness goal.

I educate them, reprogram their mind, and get them so fired up that they just can’t wait to get started achieving their goals.

A good bunch of my clients have gone on to run marathons, compete in triathlons, and even enroll on fitness courses!

In fact, even fitness trainers come to me for some serious reprogramming. Imagine that!

If it’s good enough for Lily…

The one thing you need to do to quit smoking

11/01/2010

Singer Jamelia struck a cord last week when, at a TV program, she talked about quitting smoking. She said that to her it was really simple, and that “if you don’t want to do something, don’t do it”.

In order to smoke people have to think  about it, think of  a shop where they sell tobacco, go there, buy it, find a place where they can smoke it, open it, take it, hold it light it, suck it, taste it, inhale it, swallow it, find a place to put it off, put it off…

It takes a lot of effort, time and money to smoke.

To quit, all you have to you is… NOTHING.

Getting in shape, for example, requires a lot of effort and preparation.

To quit smoking, all you have to do is absolutely nothing. None of the above.

How do you do this?

Well, decisions define who you are. You make decisions every moment of your life, so, you define yourself every single moment.

The trick is in asking yourself the right questions.

Are you interested in having the quality of your life be better?

Some of my clients compare cigarettes to a good friend. But, would a good friend kill you? Would a good friend torture you for years so you die a slow painful death?

Some tell me they smoke because they are bored, stressed out, because they want to fit in, because they think it will keep them slim…

Others give me the excuse of a night out. But, does that mean every one else who doesn’t smoke stay home on a Saturday night?

And, if your best friend beat someone on a Saturday night out and said “well, I was drunk so… I couldn’t help it”, would you accept it as an excuse?

You might be thinking, well, Anna , you can’t compare, it is not the same thing, yada yada…

It is only when you have quit making excuses for yourself, and You’ve made the decision to quit smoking that you’ll start to think differently about it.

In fact, it is so easy to quit, it takes my clients just one session.

See, we all have choices. You can choose to spend your future in a hospital bed, spend your money in treatments, procedures, medecins, pain relief, an early tombstone…

Or, you can choose to quit now, and live the future you really want to live.

If you want to achieve your goals this year you need to STOP DOING THIS

04/01/2010

If you are making resolutions and you are thinking about all the things you want to stop doing, like…

I have to stop drinking so much, I must give up chocolate, I should stop smoking, I shouldn’t spend that much money, I need to lose weight

Then stop, because it is not going to work for you.

You may have heard the saying “whatever you focus on you get more of”.

This means that if you focus on what you don’t want, you’ll get more of what you don’t want.

So, if for example,  you want to lose weight, and you are thinking things like:

I hate the way I look, I feel so heavy, I look horrible, I have huge thighs, my tummy looks disgusting…

Then you are probably also thinking:

That’s it, I can’t have bread any more, I am not allowed to eat chocolate, I shouldn’t eat pasta, I have to stop eating take aways, no more cake for me…

Then you have to realise that all you are doing is making it even harder for yourself, because you are focusing on all the stuff you don’t want.

If you are spending all your time thinking about all the things you don’t want, can’t have and shouldn’t do, then when are you thinking about what you do want?

Before you can make any changes in your life, you must change your mindset. You must change the way you think.

Otherwise, no matter how much you wish for something, how much you hope it happens, you will not get it.

Your mind doesn not recognize all the don’ts, shouldn’ts, can’ts… you are thinking.

It only recognizes positive commands.

So, when you say things like “I can’t have chocolate”, your mind processes “have chocolate”.

When you say “Don’t eat those fries”, your mind recognizes “eat those fries”.

And then you try and fight that command with will power alone? Pretty much impossible.

Unless you stop focusing on what you don’t want, you are wasting your time and setting yourself up for disappointment.

You must stop cluttering your mind thinking and talking about what you don’t want.

Want to feel great and lose weight? Avoid these foods!

29/12/2009

People tend to think about food in terms of what it does to their bodies, i.e. it makes you fat, it keeps you trim… many don’t stop to think about the effect food has on their minds.

Food can make you full of energy, positive, razor sharp focused, clear minded, motivated, relaxed… or it can make you feel like crap, chronically tired, depressed, anxious, negative…

The following foods are so bad for your mind, and body, that I really can’t see any reason to eat them.

Not only do they have close to zero nutritional value, but they also give your body a nice dose of harmful toxins.

Avoid these at all costs and start to feel boundless energy and zest for life. Not to mention the slimming effects…

MICROWAVE POPCORN

Chemicals, including perfluorooctanoic acid, in the lining of the bag, are part of a class of compounds that may be linked to infertility in humans. In animal testing, the chemicals cause liver, testicular, and pancreatic cancer. Studies show that microwaving causes the chemicals to vaporize  and migrate into your popcorn.

In fact, getting rid of your microwave altogether is probably one of the best things you can do to improve your overall health.

WHEAT

Many people buy wheat bread as opposed to white bread because they believe it is more nutritious.

What they don’t know is that wheat is often contaminated with toxins and no matter what the form, wheat, whole wheat, cracked wheat, sprouted wheat… they will all be capable of causing the same problems including: celiac disease, IBS, rheumatoid arthritis, headaches, infertility, and developmental delay in children.

Intolerance to wheat is far more common than doctors typically recognize. The human body hasn’t evolved to digest it. Wheat, and nearly all other grains, convert to sugar in the bloodstream, and rapidly accelerate aging and chronic illness in most people.

Most of us should limit or avoid wheat altogether.

SUGAR

An average doughnut will give you about 200 to 300 calories, mostly from sugar, and few other nutrients.

It will throw off your blood sugar and won’t stay with you so you’ll be hungry again soon.

Apart from the numerous negative physiological effects of sugar, which I won’t mention here, it can cause a rapid rise of adrenaline, hyperactivity, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, and crankiness. It can reduce learning capacity, and increase in delta, alpha, and theta brain waves which can alter your mind’s ability to think clearly. It can  also cause depression, increase your risk of Alzheimer’s disease, worsen symptoms of ADHD, and even cause antisocial behaviour.

One can of soda, for example, has about 10 teaspoons of sugar, 150 calories, 30 to 55 mg of caffeine, and is loaded with artificial food colours and sulphites. The diet varieties are also problematic as they are filled with harmful artificial sweeteners like aspartame.

Studies have linked soda drinks to osteoporosis, obesity, tooth decay and heart disease. Plus, drinking all that sugar will likely suppress your appetite for healthy foods, which paves the way for nutrient deficiencies.

If you regularly drink soda, regular or diet, eliminating it from your diet is one of the simplest and most profound health improvements you can make.

FRENCH FRIES & CHIPS

Potatoes are bad enough when consumed in their raw state, as their simple sugars are rapidly converted to glucose that raises insulin levels and can devastate your health. But when they are cooked in trans fat at high temperatures, all sorts of interesting and very unpleasant things occur.

Anything that is fried, even vegetables, has the issue of trans fat and the potent cancer-causing substance acrylamide.

Foods that are fried in vegetable oils like canola, soybean, safflower, corn, and other seed and nut oils are particularly problematic. These polyunsaturated fats easily become rancid when exposed to oxygen and produce large amounts of damaging free radicals in the body.

These oils can cause aging, clotting, inflammation, weight gain and even cancer.

Due to its high saturated fat content, coconut oil is extremely stable and is not damaged by the high temperatures of cooking. This is why coconut oil should be the only oil you use to cook with.

ORANGE JUICE (AND ALL FRUIT JUICE)

Fruit juice has about eight full teaspoons of sugar per eight-ounce glass. This sugar is typically a fruit sugar called fructose, which is every bit as dangerous as regular table sugar since it will also cause a major increase in insulin levels.

Many commercial orange juices are contaminated with mould from damaged fruit that are processed. So if you drink commercial orange juice regularly you will be exposed to these mould toxins.

This doesn’t mean that you should avoid fruit, just fruit juice. When the fruit is intact and whole, its fiber will somewhat moderate the release of fructose into the bloodstream as well as somewhat moderate insulin release.

Avoid  eating these foods and start to notice a surge in energy, mental clarity and a slimmer figure, in as little as 7 days.

If it doesn't grow in a field..

Start feeling great right now and let me know all about it!

Your cravings are not your fault

04/12/2009

Don't... eat it...

Take a look at the history of food marketing and find out how it has affected you and why your cravings are not your fault!

In the early twentieth century several US retailers hired a man called Edward Bernays to advise them on how to boost sales in a post war economy.

Bernays (non other than Sigmund Freud’s nephew) taught them to link the purchase of goods to people’s ego needs: status, success, prosperity, sex…

Before this, people bought things for practical purposes only. You wouldn’t buy a pair of shoes unless the pair you had were completely worn out. And most people’s food habits had nothing to do with ours today. They had more to do with survival than entertainment.

Bernays helped turn this behavior around though. He taught sales staff to make people who bought the “right” brands of food feel successful, more prosperous, sexier and more worthy. And those who bought the “wrong”  brands feel not good enough.

In today’s economy, advertisers use far more complex and subtle marketing techniques to make us buy the “right” foods, regardless of the health implications.

We are continually bombarded with subliminal and sometimes direct messages such as:

– Feeling down today? Drink this and you will feel great in no time!

– People who eat this food are more attractive…

– Only the most successful people buy this special product.

These messages are often accompanied by images and sounds that deeply anchor them in our subconscious. So, every time we see or hear the advert, or the product, an emotion is automatically triggered.

What do you feel when you hear the brand names:

  • Snickers
  • Ferrero Rocher
  • Carte D’or
  • Coke

Every year millions of euro are invested in advertising so these messages become even more powerful. Everything, from the shape of the product, the packaging material’s flashy colours, the highly addictive ingredients… to the aisle and the shelf you find them on at the shop… everything is meticulously premeditated so you find them harder and harder to resist.

Things that in the past were luxuries are now considered necessities. Foods that were once available only to the  very rich are not consumed by everyone, all the time. Our minds have been influenced to the point that we  can’t imagine living without these foods any more. We just can’t  give them up.

This is why fighting food cravings with will power alone is practically impossible. And this is why NLP is been proven so effective at getting to the heart of the matter, that is your subconscious. NLP can help you by reprogramming your subconscious with new and healthier messages about food so you can bust those nasty cravings for good.

If you have found this post helpful, feel free to post your comments or any questions you may have.

Thank you,

Anna

Cravings no more!

30/10/2009
Apple
Yummy apple!

Whether you have a soft spot for chocolate, salty stuff, take-aways or other… how hard  do you find  giving these up solely on will power?

Have you ever wondered why this is?

Well, a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to have a chat with world leading nutrition expert, Phil Richards.

When you read my post “Looking Inside” , you can find out what happened when he examined my live blood.

I found this experience fascinating. I learnt that if your blood is not healthy, your cells get diseased and often grow a type of yeast that is hungry for crap food.

You know when you get those uncontrollable cravings that make you do just about anything to get the foods you crave? Well, It’s not you going crazy. It’s your blood cells!

Using NLP techniques, I often help people get rid of life long cravings in as little as one session.

My clients tell me they have tried everything in their power to stop eating these harmful foods without success. Yet, 90 minutes later things have changed. They tell me they feel different. That they can’t put their finger on it, but that something has happened within them.

The proof is in the pudding though (how ironic!), and it’s usually after 4 weeks or so that I get an email saying they are absolutely amazed and that they haven’t had any bad foods at all since.

They tell me they are delighted, they feel healthier and fitter than ever, they have lots of energy, and they are generally happier.

As a result of our sessions, they have been eating healthy foods and exercising and they don’t have cravings any more.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that during that 4 week period they have been living healthily, their blood has also been getting healthy, and the yeasty aliens have probably shrunk or completely disappeared!

How cool is this?

What I have achieved with many of my clients is short of miraculous and sometimes I am as shocked as them!  Just read Elaine’s amazing success story at:

 http://www.delite.ie/testimonials.html

If she did it, so can you!

Anna 🙂
